Tools we use for Historic Minds

Historic Minds films are research, a locked voiceover, then picture. Picture is mixed. There is no single generator that makes the whole cut.

What we actually use

• Higgsfield — much of the generated motion on the first three longs (Marie Curie, Love Canal, Krakatoa 1883). Voiceover on those films was also run through Higgsfield’s ElevenLabs path.
• Public-domain stills — Library of Congress, Wikimedia Commons, NPS, NASA, and similar sources, Ken Burns-style, when a real plate exists.
• Paper hunts — slow camera on the actual journal page, then a restrained highlight on the line the voiceover is speaking. We do not retype the quote onto the frame.
• Grok Imagine — stills when we need a historically grounded reconstruction and do not have a usable plate.
• CapCut — titles, grade, and the finish. The YouTube file is never a raw generator export.

Not every episode uses the same stack. Later work may lean on stills and paper hunts instead of a full generated-motion pass.

The Chart Room credits already name Higgsfield as the source of one ending clip. That mention stays a credit. We did not turn every tool name on the site into an affiliate URL.
